Almost a year later
My birth story is from january 24 2019
I started having pain on the 22nd january it really wasnt bad I thought they were Braxton hicks contractions so I took a bath and went to sleep. I was awoken at 4 in the morning on the 23rd by contractions I started timing them at 4 am on the dot. I got up and went to the bathroom and lost some of my mucous plug. They were fairly irregular and they weren't lasting super long. I woke my bf up at around 5 and said I think I'm in labor he jumped out of bed so fast like "did your water break?" No dude I think weve got time lmao. He stayed up with me and I called my midwife around 6 she said I sounded like I was in early labor and to wait a while before heading to the hospital. I was honestly having fun and enjoying the first part of my labor. My bf and I got into the bath and headed to the hospital around 10 am. At this point I was contracting every 2-3 mins and they were definitely getting stronger. When I got there I was 2 cm I think and they had me in triage on the most uncomfortable bed ever. It was like a stretcher where the cushions slid apart and I was just laying on the metal. They asked me if I wanted to stay or go home and I said I wanted to stay because we lived about an hour from the hospital. I lay there on that stretcher in the same triage room for 5 hours. At that point I got to 5 cm and my boyfriend was worried about me because I basically went mute and turned into a stump lmao. They had me walk back to the delivery room and I could not walk at 5 cm. I got in the birthing tub before my epidural to see how long I could put it off. As soon as I got out I decided I was ready for it. It was bad but not as bad as I thought it would be. I didnt really feel it but I knew what they were doing and thinking about it made me super nervous. And the nurse who was holding me kept trying to push my chin onto my chest and something about being super fat and pregnant made it impossible and painful. It only took one try to place it thankfully. After I got it everything was goooollldeeen I couldnt feel anything! My left leg was like twice as numb as my right leg but still numb. This was about 5 pm that I got the epidural and I ended up progressing to 7 cm and I tried to get some sleep somewhere around 12-2 am I was so tired. I was sleeping on my left side and all of the sudden these nurses ran into the room and started moving me frantically. They grabbed my hand and almost ripped my iv out because one of the nurses was standing on the line 🙄 they said the babies heart rate dropped and it was be cause I had several contractions back to back and he didnt have time to recover. They left and told me I'd feel the need to push when he was ready. Well i never felt that i just felt pain. They came back around 3 am and i said i was having pain in my pelvis and they checked me and his head was right there! This is when i started getting nervous. I was totally fine up until this point but my bf helped pull me through. Anyway i pushed maybe 5-10 times and my son popped out his name is Everett Wolfgang Auth 😊 he was 7 pounds 0 oz born at 4 am on the dot at exactly 39 weeks gestation and exactly 24 hours since I timed my first contraction lol. And he was 19.5 in. Everything was on the dot except his height.
These pics are all out of order but the last one is the most recent :) he really did grow up so fast. He says mama and dada all the time. hes practicing walking and he feeds himself out of the food pouches. He can also point to the features of my face when I say the word 😍
