Views on Astrology?

Question

So, I am 14 and I have been a Christian my whole life and recently I have discovered astrology. The thing is, I am so obsessed with the love compatibility with my boyfriend and I’s signs and I don’t want that to tear me from my relationship and I don’t want that to tear me from god. Is astrology completely against Christianity?

God isn't a fan of astrology--namely it's putting your faith in what someone else is saying rather than trusting in Him. I don't think there's anything wrong with looking at some of that stuff for fun, but so long as you don't put any stock in it. Know that astrology is total BS. Life is what you make it. They make their descriptions general so that they can fit most people (although my husband doesn't fit any of his astrological signs at all and it makes us both laugh at how blatantly off it is). It's easy to talk yourself into forcing yourself into being "your sign" if you obsess too much. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if you find yourself obsessing, you might want to take a step back

No it’s not against it. You just have to be able to understand that astrology isn’t real. It’s a nice thought and some of it may seem like that is you but honestly astrology is just educated guesses. ￼

Astrology is lumped together with divination and witchcraft and is considered sinful. We aren’t governed by the stars but by the grace and will of God. Forget all that stuff and put your trust in God

It depends on your view of God & how much you believe in the stars. Astrology on its own (zodiac signs and star charts) aren't 100% accurate but there is truth to the energies around them, that's why it's been a thing for so long.
I have had this same conversation with myself many times but I truly believe that you can believe in stars and crystals and god at the same time.

If you are just entertained by it, that’s one thing. But if you think the stars are actually going to affect your life, or if you use your sign as an excuse for certain behavior, that’s not good anymore. 
Think of it like Facebook quizzes or fortune cookies 😂 fun, but not factual.

No it’s not. Do what you want. I see Astrology as crap and I don’t believe in it personally. You can study and do whatever you want. You don’t have to let your religion control or deter you away from things that interest you.

I like to believe that God gave us knowledge in several different mediums to understand the world He created. Astrology being one of them. I think SOME of what you can find online holds stock but it also can be a scam and a diversion tactic used by the enemy to make you place stock something other than the word of God. (speaking from experience 🥴) The best advice is the advice I would give for anything that is inherently worldly, use it in moderation and with a biblical filter. As far as your relationship and astrology go, I can under wanting to use it to see if you have compatible traits and such BUT I would recommend star charts (preferably Astro.cafeastrology.com) because they are far more accurate than a buzzfeed love meter quiz. Just remember, God’s will over everything and the stars only give a map of what you have been and may currently be not who you will become. That is your choice alone.
