Headaches/Migraines on pill- looking for help!!

Hannah

Just reaching out here to see if anyone’s experiencing what I’m experiencing. I’ve been on the Pill since March 2019 because I had an ovary removed Due to large cysts and my doctor recommended the pill to reduce the amount of cysts in the future. Back story, I have had headaches and migraines off and on since about the 7th grade (I’m 22 now) and in the past 7 months or so I have noticed my headaches are happening just about every day and when I get migraines, they are excruciating. And not much seems to help them. I reached out to my PCP and she prescribed me a medication to take at the onset of a migraine and has me on a daily Magnesium regimen and has me keeping a journal of my headaches and am following up in a couple months. She had asked me about my period and if it came regularly and I said yes because I’m on the pill and she looked at me and said, you might want to check that out. Based on the timeline and the recent surge in headaches and migraines, she thought that maybe the birth control was causing them. She had me call my OBGYN as soon as I could and I got an appointment but it’s still not for about a month. I guess what I’m wondering is if anyone has experienced similar issues and were they resolved once you switched birth control? I’m honestly just looking for some relief, living with quite literally a constant headache is interfering with my school and life and it’s absolutely maddening. Anyone who made it to the end and can offer any sort of answer or advice is an absolute saint!
