Herpes Worry

Hi all! I’m currently 12 weeks and 4 days, but I’m already worried about my baby, birth, and potential risks. My sister has always been very hands on with her kids and my niece, but just about a year ago she tested positive for genital herpes. We are close, so her coming to the hospital and wanting to hold my baby is something that is likely to happen. I’m soooo worried though about my baby catching anything. I’m not even sure if that’s possible by just holding a baby, so that’s why I’m here. She currently has a one year old, who she kisses often and shares drinks with...I’m not sure how my little niece is but I always make sure to wash my hands quickly if there’s any slobber, and I don’t kiss her at all, which is so sad to me but...I just don’t know! If anyone can give me some more info and opinions on herpes and how to go about potentially having to tell my sister she can’t hold my baby...please let me know! I’ve done some research online, but nothing is calming my anxiety. Please, PLEASE educate me if you know more!
