do I text him?

so a few years ago I had a “thing” with my best friend. he got a girlfriend and she wanted him to stop talking to me and i respected that so I told him I loved him and i’d always be there for him if he needed me then left him alone. well I haven’t heard from him since then. he blocked me on everything and I don’t know why. so recently i’ve been having dreams about us reconnecting so I feel like I should reach out and just see how he’s doing but that’s when I discovered I was blocked. so do I even bother texting him or just leave it be? I don’t know if he’s still with his girlfriend and I obviously don’t want to step on her toes but I do want to see how he’s doing. he was my best friend since 7th grade i’m now 20. I do miss him and think about him a lot and we both loved each other so I don’t understand why i’m blocked.
