How to make new friends?

I live in a very small town, and I used to have a small group of friends and we all depended on each other. Now I am basically alone and I don't have any of them. They all dumped me for their boyfriends and husbands. None of them even talk to me anymore. I am missing the friendships I had with them. If something happens in my life, I don't even have anyone to call and tell about it. I know everyone says, if they did that to you then they are not your true friends after all. If that's the case, I have never had a real friend because they all have done it to me. I want someone I can depend on, someone to go to when I need to talk or just need a hug. What do i do? How do I meet new friends in this tiny town?
