My husband has a godson. I’m not catholic but his family is. It is our nephew, and the family expects a godparent to give about $1k gifts for each birthday, graduation, etc. I was expecting to give him the same as we give the rest of our nieces and nephews, but the family will probably be offended or something. The godsons’s parents don’t even practice catholicism, it’s just tradition. we don’t plan to appoint them or anyone as godparents to our kids. Should we give them the normal amount of gift $ or more?
