Is it a big deal if my bf and I cant agree when it comes to politics?

My bf and I cant seem to agree when it comes to politics.. we feel the same way ab a lot of it, but he cant stand talking ab politics and he feels like it should never be discussed amongst anyone... one of my cousins brought it up the other day and my bf got obviously annoyed and it was kind of embarrassing

It depends. For me, someone who supports a narcissistic, racist, misogynistic asshole like Trump for example isn't someone I want to spend time with.

I think its more about what the political stance can reveal.... if there are major differences in moral, ethics, integrity, life principles, beliefs that govern life and behavior then it can be a deal breaker. In order to walk together... two must first agree.

Not wanting to talk about it wouldn’t bother me a lot. But a deal breaker is whatever you consider it to be. I personally wouldn’t be able to date anyone who supported Trump in any way

I’m with your bf. I don’t discuss my opinions on politics with friends, family, strangers, etc. It’s just a can of worms I never want to open and some people can be so rude and defensive about their opinion and I avoid that at all costs.

I also hate talking about politics but my husband will talk about it if anybody brings it up. But we also have the same political beliefs so it's not an issue. I could never be with someone who supports Trump so this would not be an issue with me.

I honestly hate talking about politics. I think I'd actually have a hard time being in a relationship with someone who passionately talks about politics - regardless of their views. I see too much hate from ALL political views to enjoy talking about it with people who are very passionately into it. So for me, the views wouldn't bother me so much as long as they don't talk about it all the time, and respect that everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions.

It depends. Differences of some political views are fine, as long as it doesn't mean different morals. I wouldn't be someone with different moral values than mine.

What bothers me (personally) is that people who don’t “like to” talk about politics hold a certain level of privilege. There are people whose lives *literally* depend on politics, and have no choice but to inform themselves and advocate for themselves. To me it’s a dealbreaker but to others it might not be.

And that’s ok. He has a right to be conservative with his political views, meaning, he shouldn’t be made to discuss them if he doesn’t want to. 
My husband and I have different views and we discuss them all the time and we are very respectful about it. It makes it fun. 
However some people do not like to discuss politics and that should be respected.
