Should I be upset? Boyfriend called me by his ex’s name

My boyfriend has been having issues with the mother of his child, As we were having dinner last night he accidentally called me by his ex’s name.. I did get upset & he did apologized right away & told me he’s been thinking too much about their problems.

I’m not going to tell you how to feel because I could see why you’d be upset by it. 
But I personally wouldn’t. If it’s on his mind a lot and he’s worried about it enough, I could see why he’s so caught up in his thoughts that he’d space out

You can’t control your reaction to it. If you feel upset, that’s okay. However, it sounds like an honest mistake. As someone who works with children, I FREQUENTLY call people I know by the wrong name. “Hey, Karen-Shelby-er.. sorry, Skyler.” It doesn’t mean anything. Your brain stores all the names of people you know in the same place regardless of your feelings for the person. So, when your boyfriend goes to say your name, sometimes his brain will spit out a different name by mistake. This usually happens when someone is tired or under stress (or if you have to remember a large number of names and use them all together like a high school teacher).
