High Blood Pressure/Pregnancy

Does anyone have any experience with high blood pressure before being 20 weeks pregnant? Any good/bad experiences or tips for work/school? Any tips for the headaches?

I’m almost 14 weeks now, and my blood pressure was mildly/moderately high at my last appointment two weeks ago. My doctor talked to me about how I will be at risk for “toxemia” because I had high blood pressure with my daughter at the end of pregnancy and mentioned that they may start me on something at my next check up if it doesn’t not go down. I’m in nursing school, walking all day at clinicals, trying not to faint half of the day. We have to lift patients, bathe patients in a sauna type room, and walk all day long. This morning I woke up with a headache that hasn’t eased up all day. With my last pregnancy I was on a modified bedrest for months and I’m terrified that will happen and i won’t be able to work. I also have hypermesis, but I’m not full on vomiting today. I decided to check my blood pressure just in case it was causing my headaches and it’s 146/90. Should I be concerned or call my doctor? Is there anything I can do for the headaches and vertigo? Is walking around for 8+ hours, lifting, and getting that dizzy okay?
