Question

Ok this sounds sooo stupid I’m sure. I know it does. Be easy on me please lol. Ok so I only have a 4 year old son right now and I’m pregnant with a little girl. So I got to thinking about diaper changes. I’m one of the unlucky women who’s super prone to vaginal infections (like Bv and yeast) unless i take a probiotic every single day. Anyways.. do babies get yeast infections? Like down there? What if she has a bad poop and it gets in between her labia/or vagina? I know obviously we should change it ASAP but my son has had a few poops when he was little that literally did not smell at all!! Do you have to wipe her from front to back like you do yourself? Or I guess it would be from up to down while shes laying down.  Ok I think that’s all. Any other tips/advice would be appreciated.. im clearly clueless.

Yeah you have to spread it and wipe front to back. And yes babies can get yeast infections or yeast rashes but my girl has never had one so not sure how common they are

Yes it happens. Has soon as she poops you need to get in between the labia and wipe down front to back just like you. It can be weird at first but you really have to clean her out. As babies every poop will get in between her labia.

My son had a genital yeast infection when he was little so I assume girls are the same. I'm pregnant with my first girl too. I guess you just need to clean them extra good during diaper changes. Also, my son takes probiotics since birth,  I plan on the same for his sister.

My daughter had an external yeast infection which looks somewhat like a diaper rash but worse.. in that case you wouldn’t use wipes you would clean with a wash cloth and water and make sure it’s dry.. we like to mix butt paste & A&D ointment together and also give her a 20 min aluminum free baking soda bath to balance her PH and it’s better in a few days. On regular pees and poops you would wipe from vagina to butt, always top to bottom. I’m sure you’ll be totally fine.. I’m expecting a boy now so i also have to learn the other way lol

Yes, baby girls can get yeast infections. And as with adults, the frequency depends on the child. My niece is 4 and she has had reoccurring yeast infections for her entire life. But your pediatrician can recognize yeast infections and will prescribe an ointment for them.

Yes always wipe them front to back. My daughters had millions of blowouts where it sometimes got allll up in there, but maybe because I got it quick enough? they never once got any kind of infection, even still to this day not one infection and they are 7 & 10. I know what you mean about the poop diapers that don't smell, all my kids had diapers like that at one point and now my son does too..but everything turned out ok, so I'm sure you'll be fine :)

Yes babies get yeast infections but not like us. You always want to wipe from front to back & yes baby's do get it all around in there say if she had a blow out so out course you want to get her as clean as possible by wiping all around if that were to happen.
