Yeast Infection help

Hi Ladies , just wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this before & if yes, what did you do to help with the discomfort, besides going to OBGYN..

I have found that after my first time getting a yeast infection, I get it whenever my period is either close or has just ended. It does make it painful/uncomfortable when my SO & I baby dance (we are ttc). Has anyone had this happen before & is there something you did to make it less uncomfortable?

I don’t mind going to the obgyn but that means I’d have to go almost every month. I do have monistat but should I even use considering my period is right around the corner ? — sorry if this was too long
