i made a list of all the things i hated about my ex

i’ve been struggling to get over a breakup with my first love for three months now and he was great to me towards the beginning of our relationship but then all this stuff I listened happened towards the end.

I saw somewhere that making a list of the things you hated about your ex and reading them when you start thinking about the good things helps get over a breakup. is this true? has anyone else done this?
