Tips for transitioning to big bed

My daughter will be 3 in Feb. and she is quickly growing out of her crib. We are going to get her a full size bed for her birthday with Minnie Mouse sheets so she will love them, but I’m nervous about the whole process. She sleeps so well in her crib and she is all over the place in it, like feet on the pillow, never under the covers and a million stuffed animals. She’s never tried to climb out of the crib either. Our main reason for doing this is because we have to use a packnplay when we stay with my in-laws and she will not fit in it when we stay with them in Feb. so they are buying her a big girl bed for their house and I don’t want the first time she uses it to be 8 hours away from home. Any tips you all have would be great!
