Am I being unreasonable?

Candy

Apparently my husband thinks I am ‘a princess’ because I am not comfortable having my child sleep over my in-laws.

I am going to hospital (as a day patient only) next week for 3 days in a row. My husband will be home looking after our little one. He is now all of a sudden pressuring me to get our little one to do his first sleep over then.

My in-laws often ignore basic rules (like no screen time) that we have asked of them when doing babysitting so the whole idea of him sleeping over in the first place is stressful to me but eventually will be something we do for some alone time together. However the idea of it happening for the first time when I’m going through treatment in hospital feels stressful to me.

I know it would take a small burden off my husband so I tried to be reasonable and suggested he get him babysat for the day (the harder part in my opinion - most nights he sleeps through unless he’s sick). Instead his counter offer was to rush a quick ‘first’ sleep over in a day or two (which would be on a week night and complete waste to us to enjoy as parents) so that he can then sleep over again in a few days.

Sometimes I do over-react and later look back, thinking that I stressed more than necessary about things. I need some neutral thoughts on the situation...what do you all think?
