Husband doesn’t want me driving around with newborn

We just had a baby a little over a week ago and I’m feeling pretty good.

My husband doesn’t want me driving our son to daycare and back which the drive is about 50 min total. I understand right now but he said even in a month it’ll be too early. The afternoon is what’s tricky cuz my mom may not get off work in time to watch our baby while I go to pick him up at 3 pm. It also means I have to start pumping and all to leave a bottle for my mom.

I just wish he voiced this before we had the baby... I just assumed I would be bringing the baby with me.

Question is do you drive longer distances with a newborn? It’s not ideal I know... but this will be hard for my moms schedule too
