Baby won't close his eyes!

My boy is almost 6wks & has been doing this for about a wk now. When I try to put him down for a nap (awake but drowsy), he'll get more alert when I lay him down & then just lay there eyes WIDE open staring around the room! He's sooo tired but he keeps forcing his eyes open!😭 Even when I finally give in & hold him to nap (cuz he NEEDS sleep!!), I have to use something to cover his eyes or force his face into my arms/chest till he falls asleep so he can't look around. (I'm not hurting him & I make sure his nose isn't covered) He sleeps great during the night.

Any suggestions? Is my baby the only one? I just want to be able to get some work done!!
