I have an aunt named Lucille, I love the name! Her nickname since childhood has been Cille (pronounced "seal") 😍

My husband’s late grandmother. It will be our daughter’s middle name. We both love it.
Lucille could easily have the nickname Lucy and it’s a more formal name that she’ll carry throughout her life. I’m not a fan of nickname names as given names because I feel it might hinder their professional life once they aren’t a child anymore. That being said, I do think the given name Lucy has become much more commonplace and acceptable.

I’m not a fan. I think Lucy is pretty and sweet and fun, but I’ve always felt like Lucille sounded stuffy and unpleasant, personally.

I really love this name and have always wanted to use it if I have a baby girl someday. But then I met my husband and he has a cat named Lucille lol.
