Dental X-rays and procedures while pregnant
Hello. I’m in my second trimester (18 weeks) with my second baby. Tonight, I started experiencing severe pain in my upper molar. I had a crown put on this tooth about 4 years ago because as a child I had a very large filling put on the tooth and it ended up falling off and there wasn’t enough tooth left to do a filling so my dentist did a crown instead. He said that the decay was close to the nerve but not close enough to require a root canal at the time. When I was pregnant with my daughter 2 years ago, I was terrified of having to have a dental procedure done because I am just worried about the X-rays and the novocaine and all of that. But now it seems like I might have to have all of that done. Has anyone else had dental X-rays and work done during their pregnancy and did it turn out just fine? Looking for advice and personal stories that can relate.
Thank you!
