Just found out I have Gestational Diabetes. What to expect?

Hi ladies! So just found out I have GD, waiting to hear back on appointments from the nutritionist and fetal specialist. Wondering how this will affect the rest of my pregnancy, other then diet and excersize. Should I expect more appointments? More ultrasounds? What week did you make it to in pregnancy? I'm currently 28.4 and just feeling like I got a butt load of information and at the same time I got no information at all. Anything would help! Thanks!

I just found out yesterday at 25 weeks 3 days...I see the dietician Wednesday for more info...I already have high blood pressure so I'm just super stressed out!

I've had GD since I was 10 weeks. Its definitely been hard. I prick my finger 4 times a day to check my sugar levels and I give myself a shot twice a day. I'll be 30 weeks Sunday, November 1. My baby boy is already in the 89th percentile. My doctor is doing everything he can to help both him and me. Just going to have a big boy! ☺️ I have went to a specialist a couple of times throughout my pregnancy and he has developed just perfectly. We will have a ultrasound every week until he's born starting at week 32. We are just hoping his lungs develop quickly incase he needs to come sooner.
