Baby not wanting to play??

Question

My 1 year old never wants to play with me!! I try to read, play.. I show her cards and stuff and she just runs away or takes it from me.. she is great playing by herself.. she’s very independent and my son was the same but he would let me read a little bit.. how am I supposed to teach her things if she’s just go go goooo!!! Like a little psycho lol

It happens. My 2 go in stages, occasionally have a week or two that they don’t want to read books. We just try again the next day. Or read to them while they’re playing with legos. I usually offer activities throughout the day based on what they currently like (and occasionally throw in something random for fun). If they’re interested, great; if not, they can go back to their accessible toys. And I try to talk to them about what they’re doing or looking at. This is the age they can pick up so much, just by playing. And entertaining oneself is a great skill to have.
