ADVICE ::::::: I Have a broke boyfriend

I’ve been with this guy for 8 months. He’s a musician. When we met I already knew he didn’t have much money but I truly didn’t care at that point in time.

He has church gigs he goes to every Sunday, and a gig at a bar every Monday. Those are the only two consistent means of income he has. Yea he will have a gig every once in a while wit the band he plays in but it’s not a regular thing.

We both live in two different states and the first time he came to visit me I payed for the ticket it was his first flight ever on a plane and I just wanted to see him before school started. ( money still didn’t matter to me then)

When he came he wanted to buy my MacBook from me because I had two, they are old so I “sold” it to him for $200. Essentially that’s how much it costs for the plane ticket as well. That was 4 months ago. He still hasn’t gave me my money.

However we still talk on a daily basis, he has bought some more music equipment during this time and also can’t stop spending money on weed and alcohol.

I have went to see him 3 times since meeting and have spent about 800$ each time( car rental, flight & Airbnb because he stays at his moms house )

I’m asking for advice because I have asked him several times to come and see me but he can’t because he doesn’t have the money. And I refuse to pay for another ticket when he still owes me money. Should I just drop him? I’ve tried talking to him about his finances but I also feel like it’s none of my business being we’ve only been together 8 months.

I do want to mention I’m 28 and he’s 29, he has mentioned one time about getting a job, filed out an application he says, but he never followed up with it. Eventually he just stopped talking about it.
