Has the ‘waters’ test ever been wrong for anyone?

So basically all day I’ve been loosing clear fluid in a trickle none stop. I’m wearing a pad. It got heavier this evening so I went to my Mat unit. The midwife said lay on this sheet and if there’s liquid on it after 20 minutes we know something is leaking. So I do it. Low and behold there’s a puddle. She does the ‘waters’ test to see if waters have gone which came back negative. So she said the constant trickle was discharge.

Could this be wrong? I know my body this isn’t discharge is runny it’s clear and it’s constant. I’m on 34 weeks I’d hate to think they’d got it wrong and put baby in harm
