How would have you reacted?

So, there was an incident a while ago where a police officer was shot and the suspect had got away and was suspected to be hiding near or in the high school.

School was closed until they caught him. Well, someone posted on their Snapchat a video of them happily bouncing on their siblings bed singing happily “Someone got shot now school is closed!” My sister and I both screen recorded the video and showed it to the principle because she was saying things like “Thanks to that stupid cop for giving us a day off!” She got in serious trouble and the other day she messaged me saying I ruined her friendships because all of them now know what she did.. to which I responded “Hon, you posted it on Snapchat. Everyone of your friends knew before we said something.”

She than said that one of her friends hates her now cause apparently the cop she was making fun of was her friends uncle. And she purposefully blocked that girl from seeing her story. I didn’t know what to say so I told her, “What you did was wrong. I’m not going to apologize for it. Your sisters where on my side about telling someone about it. I honestly think you should rethink the situation. We weren’t trying to mess up your life we simply thought that what you did was disrespectful.”

Anyways how would you guys have reacted to the situation? Like, you think it was wrong of my sister and I to tell someone?
