Professor makes weird comments....

Thankfully I’m done with his classes so now I can finally tell people the weird fucking things he says to me.

Last semester there was really only one occurrence. He gave me a lower grade than I was expecting on an assignment and after class I stayed to ask why. He told me he expected more from me. There was another girl in the class with the same name as me and began comparing us saying he didn’t expect a lot from her but more from me (weird since he didn’t know either of us and it was a pretty big class).

He then goes on to tell me how he worries about his job because girls go to the school complaining that he’s being weird just because they got bad grades and basically started venting to me. I lived with me boyfriend at the time so I just felt super safe and unbothered by it because I was going home to him and I knew if there were any problems he’d be there.

Well this semester my boyfriend left to study. And as a requirement for my major, I had to take another class taught by this professor. No big deal I had him before, he was a little weird but its fine. He began the first day going over the syllabus and telling us he doesn’t mind if we use phones in class (which he said last semester too, just to keep in mind).

I wouldn’t ever sit through a class just scrolling on my phone, I mean I’m sensible enough to know that that’s rude and I’m paying for this education. But if he said he’s fine with it and I receive a text I don’t feel bad quickly responding.

Okay so a few weeks pass, he feels it is necessary to tell the class how much I’ve grown, that I’ve become so much more responsible, I’m a better participant, and I’m even more beautiful. BRO WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ME THIS IS SO AWKWARD. I just say like uh thanks. Wtf?? It’s soooo unnecessary to comment on my looks and btw 5 months ago I looked the same and my work ethic is the same so ya.

Sometime between then and the next weird occurrence I get an email stating that he’s so happy to have me in his class and that he really enjoys teaching me. I just responded thank you I enjoy learning some shit like that.

Then one day in class my phone fell on the ground, my screen saver pops up and it’s a picture of my boyfriend and I. He goes ohhh I see your boyfriend. I say “what” and he repeats himself and I’m just like ya aha. And a girl saves me by getting excited and is like let me see!!! So that was super weird.

Then a couple weeks ago a woman came into our class to observe and she sat behind me. I knew better than to use my phone. Of course I didn’t.

Last night before our exam, he’s talking about how the next night hesmeeting his students at a bar for a drink. Obviously I’m not going to go so I just don’t say anything. Then he proceeds to say to me “you got me in trouble for being on your phone while the class was being observed.” I said what do you mean? And he said you were on your phone while she was here. I said no I wasn’t and the girl who saved me before says oh that could’ve been me and he says oh yes might’ve been. Then looks at me and says no it was you. I just didn’t say anything I mean I don’t know why he’s accusing me of anything.

Then I emailed him after the exam asking for the grades I’ve received. All As except the most recent grade he gave out, participation. Mind you I spoke every class, was part of every discussion if not creating it. I never sat on my phone being blatantly rude but he did say we were allowed to use them. It’s my education and if I was to take 30 seconds from the draining 2 1/2 hour lecture I have to sit through, then I will because I’m an adult.

How do you tell the whole class how great I am which was fucking weird but then give me a shitty participation grade???

I told my mom about this and she just said it was completely inappropriate for him to comment on my looks, and it is this isnt a fucking beauty contest I’m here to learn and I hate that I was constantly picked on like no one else was in there

EDIT: just let me add that this guy comes to every class complaining about how he doesn’t want to be there and how terrible all his other classes are. Not really relevant to my situation but as you can see, he sucks
