GD and induction

Has anyone been induced for just having gestational diabetes? My doctor had mentioned it, only 29 weeks but mentioned that I would probably have to be induced. Also baby is measuring ahead by 2 weeks by fundal height as well. I’d really prefer not to be induced due to wanting to have a VBA2C which my OB is totally onboard with but I have heard that being induced when trying for a vbac lowers your chances of being successful.
