He feels I should breastfeed?

Before I start, let me say that my husband is an amazing man and my best friend and I know he only wants whats best for me. But we are seeing a little different on breastfeeding. We have 2 kids that were planned and a third on the way that was not planned. I tried breastfeeding our other 2 and did not enjoy one moment of it with either and it stressed me out so bad , but once I switch to formula I felt more calm. Thoughts? He's worried I won't bond with this baby if I don't at least try. 😩

Honestly, as a mom who’s breastfed both of my kids (still currently with my second), I think the whole bonding by breastfeeding thing is bullshit lol. Breastfeeding has never made me feel more bonded to my kids. I get really detached in the first few weeks as a coping mechanism to just get by since the first few weeks are so rough. It doesn’t do anything to keep me bonded. I felt more bonded to my baby’s by just talking to them and cuddling. It doesn’t need to be by breastfeeding. I think it’s great he can express his concerns to you and y’all can talk it out. He seems really supportive of your decision either way. Ultimately, it is up to you. I think you should what is best for you and your mental health. Because a happy mom is a great mom. That’s what your baby’s needs the most.

Breastfeeding wasn’t for me, I bottle fed both my first two and will do the same this time as well. I am the only person making this choice as it is my body and I know what I am comfortable with ! My husband respects my choice

You won’t bond any different with baby I have cousins who can’t because inverted nipples so it’s almost impossible and is see they have bonded just fin with their children I bottle and breast feed my first and now exclusively breastfeeding my second I don’t think I’ve bonded any more with one than the other breast milk is obviously great for them so maybe look into pumping for a short time but if not it’s no big deal if that were the case how do men bond with baby ? The don’t breast feed

it’s whatever YOU feel comfortable with honestly as he said. I wouldn’t force yourself to do it.. i would honestly just see how you feel once you have the baby and make a decision then on whether you want to do it or not. I wouldn’t stress over it!❤️

My boyfriend is the same, he wants me to breast feed because he wants what’s best for the baby but i honestly don’t feel comfortable with it. I really like the idea of making a bottle and i have a lot to do after i give birth. I’ve already told him i’m not going to do it and he was a bit upset but now he’s fine with it. I feel if you don’t want to do it you shouldn’t feel forced as you do matter too.

Maybe try the first like literal 3 days. Isnt the breastmilk different in the absolute beginning and has a lot of protective stuff in it? Or is that wrong
Then just switch to formula. Or just start formula asap. If your body, no one can actually make you breastfeed if you refuse to.

Do whatever u are comfortable with. You can always hand express/pump while you are in the hospital to collect some colostrum to give to baby and if u dnt want to do that no big deal. You are babys mom and skin to skin will bond u and baby

Honestly, any amount of breastmilk is beneficial to your baby, & there's loads of particularly good stuff in that initial colostrum. You aren't obligated to continue just because you give it a try. I think your husband's opinion should matter-- it's his child too, & there is research backing benefits for mom & baby. & again, you can stop any time. Just my personal opinion.
