Blocked tear duct or pink eye? The whites of her eye isn’t red! She’ll be 3 weeks old tomorrow. She hasn’t been around anyone with a cold and she is able to open that eye. I feel so bad for her. Any of you mothers experience anything like this? Thanks for any input and suggestions. (Yes I’ll call her Doctor if it gets worse)

We called it goopy eye. It fixes itself with time. We used a very soft and warm washcloth to remove goop. That's it.

Weirdly all 3 of mine had blocked ducts. The first had to have drops because it progressed to conjunctivitis ( my hippy neighbor told me to use breast milk to fix it) and all you need to do is a warm wash cloth and keep the goo out.

My first had it for about a month and my second had it for about 2. What worked for my second was steam, I went into the hot tub and held him sitting out of it for about 10 mins, did that 3 days Ina row and it totally cleared up, otherwise just fallow everyone else’s advice about BM and warm cloth.

Mine had that at 2 weeks. I think it’s a blocked duct that gets infected (once the discharge is yellow or green there’s infection). We got antibiotic drops and it cleared up in about four days.

My youngest got an eye issue when she was newborn and I just had to take a warm rag every few hours to help keep clean and dry and it ended up passing on its own
