In terms of what? Cloth diapers obviously last longer haha, they’re cheaper, and better for the environment. Disposables are a little easier though.

Cloth for me. My first was in disposables for 5 months and then developed an allergy to them. So we switched to cloth. He's never had a rash besides the one he got when he developed the disposable allergy. My second was in cloth since birth, my third will be as well. I spent maybe $200 on my set up and haven't spent a dime since then. So I've been using the same cloth diapers for almost 3 years and have only spent $200 on diapers in that time. When I googled the average cost for disposable diapers over 3 years, it says it's $2,500 - $3,000. It didn't make my water or electric bill go up at all or if it has, it wasn't a noticable amount. So I've saved $2,300-$2,700 just by choosing cloth diapers over disposables. Even more since I use cloth wipes at home.

You save money with cloth. You’ll have less rashes. I used disposable with my son for about six months and then we switched to cloth. I’m pregnant with my second and we are going to use cloth with her too. Very worth it.

I’ve never used cloth diapers but I want to so badly! I think disposables are much more convenient when on the go, but I love the idea of cloth diapers so much in every way.

This depends on a lot of factors. I started cloth diapering and did it from 0-4 months and then again from 8-10 months. I probably would have done it the entire first year but my family watches my son and they were comfortable with them...and I wasn’t going to fight them about when they were giving us free child care. On maternity leave and over the summer (I’m a teacher) we cloth diapered...and a little over long breaks. The issue for us was having enough to bulk the machine for the week and no matter how I tried different insert types and wash routines we still have leaks. No poop blowouts...I loved them for that. We had a diaper raffle at our shower knowing we would need them eventually for the sitters and got so many cloth and disposable that it ended up being cheaper for us to use the disposables than buying as many cloth ones as we would have liked to have...and to experiment with different inserts. I just never managed to get it reliable enough for us since we are on the go a lot and hated having to change his outfits so much because of leaks. I never hated cloth and I’m glad I did it when I did and will probably use them again when baby 2 comes around but for us and our situation disposables were better for us to have.

Both has it’s advantages and disadvantages. A friend of mine uses cloth diapers 90% of the time, and only uses disposables for certain other times. She only has bought 1 big box of diapers and still has them (she bought bigger size diapers since she’d figured she wouldn’t use them much) but they come in handy.
