Guy friend blowing me off? 😕

I have this guy friend that I’ve hung out with for a while we got kinda close but I had to cancel on him a few times for good reasons...Since then he’s been talking to his ex he’s been ignoring me and not texting back much...he still wants to hang out but is acting more distant? I’ve never messed around with him or slept with him so idk what’s up with him? Why would a guy do that?
