Sterilizing bottles??

Question

If I sterilize bottles and pump items will they be good when baby arrives??

Honestly, I only sterilize after I buy it, just once boiled and  then not. 
I tried to do it all the time with my first then her ped actually said it was unnnessicary unless we had bad water in our area or things where not getting cleaned well when washed. They mainly suggested it if we where on well water etc.

When i worked with babies we weren’t allowed to give babies bottles that havent been sterilised within that hour, i think itll be fine but thats what we were recommended to do in a infant nursery
