What would you do/say in my shoes?

My husband is a bit on the heavier side, since we got together he gained weight because we kept going out and coincidentally he stopped being a roofer and got a desk job at the same time. i dont have a problem with this hes still sexy as ever to me, but im tired of family and friends making a comment in it. They dont mean it in a malicious way but i know hes sensative about it and usually we would laugh it off but with a family reunion coming up i can just see all the little comments. I dont want it to affect his self confidence but i dont want to create drama.

This is what i did last time: the conversation was about keeping sweets out of the house bc im trying to loose baby weight and if its not in the house me and hubby are less likely to eat it and she goes "yeah he can stand to loose a few pounds" 🙄

I just paused stared at her long enough to make it awkward and said "anyways...."

Like that was rude i dont go bring up the fact that your husband goes hunting everytime he has freetime.
