C-section experiences??

Hi mamas. I’m having a C-section in 4 weeks with my rainbow baby girl because with my last delivery I had a BAD tear & doctor thinks c section would be best this time. Does anyone have experiences to share or advice??

I had a really positive experience for my c section, even though it was an emergency and I was really worried! I imagine having it planned and KNOWING you’re going to have one will make it that much better! Took maybe a half hour for the whole thing. I had my son at 7am and that evening I was up and walking around the halls. I also walked the block every day as well, nothing fast or long/crazy.... just to get moving and recover easier. I will say the pain meds kicked my ass (might be different for everyone?) but they made me sooooo sleepy I think the first 2 weeks I woke up, nursed, went back to sleep. Thank god my mom and husband were there to do the rest! Keep up on your pain meds, I kept them by my bed and set an alarm at night, you don’t need that pain catchin up with you! I’d say by week 3 I was good as new. I don’t recall it being anything crazy, and I’m having one by choice for my next. Oh AND take the damn stool softeners!!!!

I had a c section with my 1st do to him being breech. It was a quick recovery for me. I took.it easy and had help but did have to climb stairs to and from bed and kitchen. Nice not having full 6wks of bleeding after birth. It was more like 3wks. Once the incision healed i always massages it to help keep the scar tissue to a minimum. Im praying for a Vbac this go! So prayers to all of us on our different journeys this go around!

Advice:
#1 take stool softeners
#2 bring a pillow for the car to press against your stomach on the car ride home
#3 wear a binder,  most hospitals will provide one
#4 rest a bit right after then walk as much as possible
#5 take a shower as soon as they let you to feel human again

I had a csection because my daughter was breech, it was a very positive experience! My water broke, no contractions, so they did it sooner than planned. I went in to confirm it was my waters and and hour later I was in the OR - I think maybe because it all happened so fast I was in shock and couldn’t really wrap my head around it, but I was SO calm 😂 I was joking with the them during the surgery about wanting a straight scar 😂 I got to hold her in the OR after they checked her out for about 10 mins then my husband took her back to the room and I was back there with them probably 15 mins later and got to do skin to skin then. The first few days are going to suck, but it gets easier every day. I tried to get up frequently and I really do think it helped me heal quickly. By the 2 week point I was getting around just fine (obviously not lifting or doing anything strenuous) just if you start to feel tired or sore sit your butt down and don’t push it. 😋

Following! I’m also scheduled for a c-section to avoid the complications I had from my episiotomy after my first baby. Nervous, but hoping the recovery will be easier compared to the months of pain I suffered after my vaginal delivery!

I had a 3rd degree tear with my first and it was rough. My dr has told me that this baby is bigger than all of my others (this is baby 5), and I am also having my tubes tied. So if I choose csection there will only be 1 incision, and no worries abt tearing... after reading all these positive experiences I definitely am giving more consideration to a csection.

I'll be having my third c-section soon. Everyone has given perfect advice. I'd just like to really emphasize keeping up with the stool softeners and drink lots of water. The worst part of both c-sections for me was the first bowel movement afterwards and that was even with taking the meds religiously. 
I found using the squirt bottle after using the bathroom was helpful too. With the bleeding and incision, it's a bit of a mess down there for a while and using the squirt bottle before wiping  helped me feel extra clean. 
Also just a heads up if you get a spinal block, you will basically immediately go numb from chest down and you won't be able to move. You'll still feel lots of pressure and tugging during the surgery, it's super weird but not painful. It takes some time for the numbness to wear off and it feels a bit weird as it does. 
My nose always gets really itchy for some reason and I rubbed it raw the first time. Lotion helped a lot the 2nd time. 
You might also feel super cold for a while afterwards. The OR is freezing. Ask for warm blankets. 
Both c-sections were relatively smooth and recovery wasn't bad. Just take it easy and stay on top of your pain meds.
