Advice on husband not wanting to change agreed on name?

We quickly went through names and liked 
Madeline we agreed I do like Madeline but I don’t think it’s what I want. I want a shorter more American name. My husband is mad and says he wants it to be Madeline. Any advice if you had the same problem? 
I just don’t think I’m in love with the name Madeline and I’d love a shorter baby girl name thanks!

You should agree on the name you like, but for what it’s worth, Madeline is pretty American to me regardless of origin.

I wouldn’t consider Madeline a long name. Could you compromise by having a shorter nick name she goes by? EX. Maddie

Picking a name was probably the hardest thing for us! If you don’t absolutely love it, come up with other suggestions and show him. Who knows maybe he’ll like one of them more 🤷🏼‍♀️

That’s unfair of him. If that isn’t the name you picture then he needs to understand your allowed to change your mind. We changed ours multiple times because either I didn’t end up liking it or he didn’t. He needs to compromise with you and look at other ones that you both like
