Car seat suggestions? (with better air circulation)

Question

Right now I have a Chicco car seat (pictured under this) I used it with my first and he sweated like crazy in it, now I’m using it with my second and it’s worse.

I want to get one that he won’t sweat in. I use a Graco 4ever one with my oldest and even rear facing he never sweated. So I’m thinking about going for a graco infant seat but I don’t know what one. Any suggestions?

If you have a buy buy baby store near you, you can make an appointment with a specialist who knows everything about the car seats. They can help you choose the best one for what you’re looking for. I’m a FTM and had no clue the differences between the car seats, so I made an appointment and they helped so much. What I found is a lot of the infant car seats will range in depth and curvature. The one you pictured is a pretty deep one, which is considered safer technically in the event of a crash, but they’ll be sitting deeper and more snug in the seat and therefore get more hot and sweaty easily. It’s hard for baby’s the regulate their body temperature in the first place. So you have to just weigh the pros and cons of all of them.

How old is your baby? Since babies grow out of infant seats so fast (mine only lasted 6 months), I don’t know if I would bother buying a new one. I would just buy another Graco convertible seat for when you’re ready to move up. 
If you really want a new infant seat then maybe stick to Graco if you already know you like that brand. We used a Nuna Pipa and the new ones are made of wool to regulate temperature so you don’t have to worry about overheating. They’re also the lightest car seats on the market, which was a huge plus for us. We loved our infant seat, but like I said, our son grew out of it when he was 6 months. Good luck!

We had that one and got a clip fan. We now have a convertible Chicco with different fabric that is supposed to improve air circulation. So far, no sweating, but it’s winter, lol. 
If you have good experience with the Graco and want to continue with an infant seat, go for it.

Have you tried to buy a battery operated clip on fan? That may help and may be a lot cheaper.
