Did I do the right thing?

My daughter just had her 15 month check up. During the check up the nurse asked if I wanted her to have a flu shot. This was really surprising to me cause my daughter actually already had her flu shot on November 8th. I told this to the nurse. “I said she actually already had hers no thanks”. This nurse looked at me Luke I was crazy or something and got an attitude with me saying there’s no record of my daughter having it so I must be crazy. 
I know for a FACT my daughter had it. On November 8th, I still have the paperwork info on the flu shot they give you when you kid gets shots. 
So I denied the shot cause it would if been her second dose and she doesn’t need it since she already had one. 
The nurse rolled her eyes and said “there’s no record so she didn’t get it”
So basically I didn’t let them give my daughter a second dose. 
Was I right not to be pressured my this nurse when I know for a fact my daughter has already had her flu shot?

Did she have it at that office? If so, they should have records, & I'd be following up to figure out the issue because I'd reevaluate my choice of pediatrician if they're not keeping good track of this stuff. (If not, then of course there's no reason they'd know.....)

Yes you are correct! I work in health care. Super inappropriate of the nurse to respond that way. She should have said she’d double check or asked you more questions about when/where. You absolutely did the right thing by advocating for your daughter.

You know whats best for your daughter, and you know for a fact that she got the shot. 
As the other commenter said, if it was done by that doctors office, I'd reevaluate going to them and look for a new doctor. Not only do they not keep proper records, but they also called you a liar, tried to push you into something youd said no too, and could of out your baby at risk had you not stood your ground. Actually, scratch that, I'd go to a new doctors office regardless of if that's where she got her flu shot. They treated you shitty, and they could of harmed your daughter

They are only yearly for a reason that would of made her very unwell giving her the other one as well I would definitely see my dr about her

I would get in touch with the administration to try and resolve the recording issue and even look elsewhere. It's critical they log this information correctly.

If your baby hasn’t had one before, or had only one in the previous season, it’s recommended that they get 2, at least 4 weeks apart. Maybe she didn’t have a record of it, and that’s odd, I would check on that, but it could be your baby needs the second dose.

Question, was this her first year ever getting a flu shot? Reason I ask is typically the first year the flu shot is given in 2 doses.

Now obviously this nurse wasn’t talking about a second dose, she clearly believes your child never got a shot at all. BUT, if I were you I would be really pushing to find the record of the shot she received in November, because if this was her first flu vaccine and they followed standard protocol, then she should have received a booster 4 weeks later. Whoever did the first shot should be keeping accurate records and should have informed you if a second shot was needed.   Their carelessness would have me finding a new pediatrician.

I am now wondering if neglecting to record vaccinations counts as malpractice. The errors that could occur due to inaccurate records are terrifying. Talk to the doctor and look into whether this should be reported to the medical board.
