Heat rash or acne?

Kaitlyn

I want to clarify that my daughter does have an appointment with pediatrician in 2 days, so I am seeking help outside of this site.

My daughter will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. For the past almost 2 weeks we’ve noticed red bumps forming on her face. It first it was breast noticeable and just on her cheeks. Within days it became worse. Right now it’s the worst it’s been. We figured it must be acne of some sort and we have simply been gently washing it with just warm water and a cloth twice a day. We don’t put anything on her face.

After my husband looked into it some more recently he thought it could be heat rash. During the day she loves to be on my arms and I’ve been letting her nap in them after feedings. I hold her against my chest like in the picture below. Most of the time her face is against my skin and becomes pretty sweaty.

She will lay like that on both sides of her face and she has bumps on her cheeks, forehead, ears and some parts off the neck. (I have not been wearing perfume since she was born).

We can tell it itches her too, she rubs her face back on forth on us constantly.

These photos show some of the bumps and redness

Any thoughts? Any other possible things to try before her appointment? Thanks!
