What do you wish someone would’ve told you?

Im a caregiver and a single mom I am only 19 years old I have my own place and a baby on the way and have been decorating the nursery because I was able to get a place where the baby gets their own room and it will be just me and baby,I pay all my own bills and will be doing this all by myself with little to no help from family and friends my family has always told me  since I was a little girl”the day you get pregnant your on your own cause obviously you’re grown enough to get pregnant”. So my question is if you had a baby young and do it alone,WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULDVE TOLD YOU?

Save money every month and every week you can. So you have a lot to fall back on. Someone recommended I do this while pregnant. & I would always put half of my paycheck in savings. Sometimes a quarter when I needed to keep my money lol. I have 10,000 and it gives me peace of mind in case I fall behind. Postpartum is tough sometimes and I’ve had to dip into my savings here and there

I can’t relate, however I would like to applaud you for taking on the responsibility that most people don’t when having a baby young. It doesn’t mean you can’t have a fulfilled life it just means your priorities change.
I know a few of my friends who have shared with me the answer to your question. They wish they knew how to budget financially as to not overextend themselves. There are things that we “want” for baby like cutes unnecessary decor & things that baby actually needs.
While paying your own bills & living on your own it still ok to ask for a trusted family member to babysit for however long you feel comfortable, so you can accomplish something that would take longer with a baby, much quicker. It’s ok to ask, or even to just accept the offer. 
Also if the father is not in the picture which is what it seems, put him in child support. Period. That’s what I’ve heard from my friends. Wish I had more to share.

Save as much money as you can! Find friends and build your village. It's possible to do it on your own but it will be hard so you'll want as much help as you can get. Congratulations!
