Co-sleeping?

I co sleep with my daughter. My parents and my boyfriend tell me that I’ll feel like shit if I kill her but I do it safely. Are there any risks doing it safely? And what are the benefits?

1. Go sleeping and bed sharing are NOT the same. Co sleeping is baby in the crib and parents in the bed NEXT to the baby in the same room.
Bed sharing is baby and parent in the same bed.
2. The ONLY safe place for a baby, is in a crib with absolutely nothing in it other than a tightly fitted sheet. No toys, no pillows before 2 years old . No blankets before 2 years old. No bumpers on the crib and nothing attached to the crib. Why?
Because of the high risk of suffocation and strangulation. 
These are facts not opinions.
As per aap, the only safe place for a baby is in a bare crib with just gotten sheets on. 
Now, you CAN practice the “ safe 7” and BED SHARE safe-ER than without the safe 7. But safe 7 is not all that safe. People have rolled over their baby. Pillows have fallen on thei babys head and suffocated them. People that have said “ I’m a light sleeper and I would hear my baby” have woken on ON TOP OF THEIR BABY WHO ULTIMATELY DIED FROM BEING CRUSHED AND SUFFOCATED .
There is no way to safely bed share . That’s a fact.
Any time you bed share you are taking the risk of loosing your child’s life.

There is always risk, even if you don’t cosleep. So just do what you feel is best momma.

We lost our first son, Dante, due to malpractice last December. So we are in a few bereavement groups. Each of the groups we attend (with between 8-10 families) who lost their child this past year, anywhere from conception (miscarriage) through to their first birthday. In each group we have at least one family who’s baby died in bed with them... some woke up on top of their baby in the morning. 
One even had their five year old wake them to ask where her baby brother was...turns out the mother (who normally co sleeps with the baby in a bassinet next to her) had pulled the infant onto her for a late night breastfeeding and fell asleep feeding her son. When her daughter woke her up, she realized she had rolled over, toward her husband, in her sleep while the baby was feeding. She had been so exhausted that she hadn’t even realized what was going on until she sat up in bed and her daughter started screaming.
A few families don’t even know if their child’s death would have been avoidable if their baby hadn’t been in bed with them. They don’t know if they rolled onto the baby in the middle of the night, or if the baby was smothered by the bed sheet, or even the softness of the mattress having something to do with the baby stopping breathing. However, whether their baby’s deaths were their faults or not, the unbearable level of guilt each family carries is unimaginable.

I've co slept since my daughter was 4 months and it saved us. She slept soooooo poorly it was the only way I could function. I dont think I would've been comfortable doing it before then because newborns are so much more fragile... but I know tons of people co sleep and do it safely and successfully. Definitely if you want to then follow the safe sleep 7. But just know that doesn't 100% eliminate the risk. 
For me co sleeping just ended up being the safest option as well because if I wasnt cosleeping I was sleeping with my daughter on my chest sitting in a recliner which is 100x more dangerous. (That's the only way she would sleep).

Bed sharing can be done safely and is done in most of the non weaternized world with much lower rates of SIDS. Bedsharing is the biologically normal way to sleep and both Mom and Baby get great benefits from it. look up the safe 7. No matter where your baby sleeps, there is always a risk of SIDS.

I wouldn’t have a baby sleep in the same bed as me. That’s just too scary of an idea. My mom had my sleep on her stomach and she said I fell off cause she rolled. Thankfully I’m still here from that. So nope not sleeping with a baby in my bed.

We used to bed share until she was 7 months. She rolls way to much now and don’t want her risk rolling of the bed while we are asleep. 
We miss her so much. So what we do is put her to sleep in our bed while we’re both there cuddling her while she’s sleeping. When we’re ready to sleep then we transfer her cute little self to her crib.

You should get a co-sleeper to put next to your bed if you want your infant close. Do not sleep with your baby in the same bed! It is absolutely, extremely unsafe and you will feel completely heartbroken if something happens to your baby. Please, please do not do this!!!

ard you on facebook? look up this group called biologically normal infant sleep. cosleeping is the most normal thing you can do. its biologically engrained into us and our babies. look up the safe 7 of coskeeping.

We sleep like this. She lays across my stomach on her boppy. I lay on my back and stay on my back. Been doing it for about 7 months now. This is what IM comfortable with and I do wake up every now and again to switch sides.
