Feeling really defeated this week. My 3 week old son has a terrible diaper rash from antibiotics I was on after being discharged from the hospital. He also has been super gassy which is making him fussy and upset when he is awake. During the day he loves to be held and won’t last long in his bassinet or swings so I can’t really get much done. I’m worried that this is going to cause more issues in the future where he will continue to only want to be held while sleeping. He also only sleeps 1-2 hours at a time at night. By the time I feed and change him and get him back to sleep in his swaddle and bassinet, he is ready to eat again or needs a new diaper since we’re trying to clear up the rash. To be frank I’m totally exhausted and overwhelmed. I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel here and don’t feel like we’re anywhere close to “it gets easier”. Any support or words of encouragement are welcome!
