Kept insisting someone owed them money
I don’t like posting my personal life, but the most shadiest shit happened outside of my house yesterday. My boyfriend and I were just getting back after spending a night out together and a random vehicle started approaching us from behind. Mind you, we were sitting in front of my house and this all happened around 9 o’clock at night. In no way, shape or form should any vehicle be approaching us from behind, especially that late at night and when it’s dark. They get out, come up to his window and insist someone owes them money. We have no idea who this person even is or who they’re even looking for but they kept insisting and asking where this person was. They eventually leave and go back to their vehicle but don’t actually leave until I call my dad and tell him to come outside because some shady shit was happening. It was the weirdest shit. Never in my life would I have ever thought anything about spending a little extra time with my boyfriend, soaking up as much time as I could, before parting ways. Now this entire thing has me second guessing everything and don’t ever just sit outside in your car if you don’t have to, especially at night when it’s dark. The police seem to think nothing of it and made me feel stupid for reporting it. “Maybe it was just the wrong person?” Even if it was the wrong person, why didn’t they just leave when we told them that the first time and didn’t keep insisting that we knew this person and knew where they were? Even if it was the wrong person, why did they get back in their car and just sit there and not leave until AFTER I called my dad and told him to come outside? Even if it was the wrong person, how does any of that not seem shady and suspicious to roll up on someone late at night and insist someone owes you money? And there was more than one person in the car. You don’t just wait until 9 o’clock at night, unless you’re trying to do some shady shit. I get and understand that there isn’t and wasn’t much that they could do, but at the same time they didn’t take me seriously and I wanted to get it reported so they could keep an eye out for this vehicle and in case it happened to someone else. Protect yourselves, always be aware of your surroundings and don’t just sit there. There’s too much shady shit going on out there and the cops aren’t going to do anything for you. No matter what their reasoning was to approach us around 9 O’CLOCK AT NIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE, they were up to no good. I’m just glad I have a boyfriend I 110% trust and feel protected with, and every situation we have ever been put in has helped prove that.
Someone told me I should have taken a picture of their license plate and posted it on Facebook. It was dark and there was no way my camera would have picked up on it. The only time I had even seen their license plate was when they were driving away, so please don’t try and tell me what you would have done or what I should have done in this situation because honestly you don’t know until you’re actually put in it. I’ve always known to try and memorize their license plate but again, it was dark. I tried. I did my best in that given situation.
