Ears pierced?

Just wondering if anyone was getting there babies ears pierced? 
And if so when’s a good time to get them done?

I got her ears pierced right before we left the hospital. In my country they do this before they send you home if you ask for it.

Why? Maybe she won’t want them pierced. Why not wait until she grows up and can decide for herself?
