When do your kids open gifts from you?

In our house growing up, we opened our gifts from our parents Christmas eve before bed. I like this tradition because it means that the kids aren't as overwhelmed by getting so much at once between parent's gifts and Santa gifts. I want to let our girls open their gifts before bed tonight (well technically our 1 month old isn't really opening hers, but you know.)

My husband always came to see what Santa brought first thing Christmas morning, then opened family gifts. He wants to open tomorrow.

It won't matter because our 3 year old will most likely be asleep by the time we get home from my in laws tonight, but I just wondered what everyone else's traditions were?
