should she tell? (rape)

i’m not attaching my name to this because it is not my story to tell but i am curious to what you all think. i know in the end it is her decision and we will all support her but here are the details:

my cousin is in her early 20’s with a long time bf. she was raped by her godfather (her moms/my moms cousin) who is recently divorced. he got her drunk and took her to an isolated location. she now has an std and can no longer have kids because of the damage he’s done to her. he doesn’t think what he did is wrong and he also thinks only she knows about it. it mentally and physically screwed her up. she got a rape kit done and has the evidence.

she’s struggling on to throw him to jail or not because he has kids, i think 4 (i think all girls) they’re really young. she doesn’t want to be the one who broke the family and doesn’t want to be the reason they won’t have a dad in their life. i think he might do it to them later in life if he doesn’t go to jail but do you ladies think she should put him in jail? maybe your opinions might help her see what is right and encourage her on what to do.
