EBF and ready to eat!

My girl is EBF, and will be 6 months old on 01/13. I don’t want to feed her yet because I don’t see a need, however she is very ready to eat! She shows all signs of being ready and I feel selfish for not feeding her just because I’m not ready. Is anyone giving food yet, prior to 6 months? Our pediatrician gave us the go ahead at 4 months but said it was up to us if we were ready. I don’t plan to do any cereal because it has no nutritional value, I’ll skip straight to veggies. I’m going to do homemade baby food, and thinking of starting with sweet potatoes..Is it too soon? What food(s) did everyone start with? TIA!
