Breastfeeding, Pumping, or Nah?

Question

I know this isn’t a popular opinion but is it weird for me not to want to breastfeed? My nipples are pretty central in my sex life with hubby and the idea of painful, cracked, bleeding nipples makes me shudder. I was formula fed and turned out okay...my best friend pumped exclusively...can anyone offer advice?

If you're doing it correctly, that wont happen. 
I personally think its selfish to put your sex preferences over using them for their actual intent of feeding your baby but that's just me.

Not weird at all. I lasted a little over a week before saying ‘screw this.’
It isn’t for everyone. And you don’t need to explain your reason or justify yourself. Your baby will be fine 💕

I was able to breastfeed my son exclusively for 3 months and then pumped when I was at work and breastfed him when I was with him until he was 7 months. My nipples never cracked or bled. That being said.... you have to be super committed to breastfeeding. I recognize it’s not for everyone. But I also think everyone should try. Because you never know, you might love it.

Of course it’s okay to not wanna breastfeed. Not everyone wants to do it. I hate it and I’m only gonna be 2 months in. I won’t continue for very long. I formula fed my first and it was much easier to me.

That’s such a dumb and selfish reason to not want to breastfeed. Fed is best but if you’re able to breastfeed it is 100x better than formula. I’ll never understand why some women choose vanity or a sex life over what’s best for their child.

I definitely did t want to breastfeed because i hate the feeling of my breast being touched 😂 i ended up doing it anyways at 5 months i really wanted to stop! Baby got her first tooth and it started bothering me again.....i cried about stopping and made it all the way to 10 1/2 months before i began to exclusively pump! My milk supply also dropped from stress so i began to wean her off slowly! 🤷🏽‍♀️ my nipples didn’t crack and weren’t sore....they make nipple cream that helps a lot! Lol it felt weird whenever my SO would unconsciously put my nipple in his mouth!

I had the same fear but chose breastfeeding. We are a year in and the nips are still off limits lol I can’t in my own head switch from nursing to sexual all in the same night so he has had to hold off from those😬 which is disappointing but  I would do t again. There’s absolutely nothing wrong for opting out on breastfeeding tho and you don’t have to answer to anyone or provide any explanation if u chose not to do it.

I can’t handle all the people saying you’re selfish. Get off your high horses. If you don’t want to breastfeed that’s cool. I despise it. It’s not for everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️ Since you asked for advice, not shaming.... here’s my advice: you could always try it and see how you feel about it. You may end up finding it easy or enjoyable. If it doesn’t work out you can stop. There’s nothing wrong with not breastfeeding. Formula was invented for a reason and it feeds babies just fine!!

Honestly I felt like I wanted to exclusively pump for the sake of my nipples, but once I actually had my baby that changed. It's easier to just breastfeed, you don't have to heat up a bottle in the middle of the night when you're half asleep, and if they latch correctly your nipples won't hurt or bleed. So you may change your mind once the baby actually comes, and end up enjoying the bonding of breastfeeding too. 🤷‍♀️ It's your choice anyways, but I'm just saying you may feel differently when the baby comes.
