Do I HAVE to have a csection?

I’ve had two..the first was because I had twins and the second was elective. It’s been 6 years since the last one but my doctor makes it seem like uterine rupture is a high risk but when looking it up it’s about a 1-2% chance🤷🏼‍♀️

I had an emergency c section with my 1st after being induced. I had another c section with my 2nd cause I was losing fluids and the doctor could figure out why. I drank lots of fluids like mybdoc said to do but when I went back for my check up my fluids just kept getting lower so we did a c section. With this baby i am having a c section because I chose to have it done cause I really dont want there to be any complications.

It’s late in the game to change doctors, but not impossible. You’d have to find out why exactly your doctor believes you have a high risk of rupture. Sometimes it’s the type of incision and sometimes it’s just because in general they are not comfortable with it. If it’s the incision type, you may just need to have that next c section. But if it’s their practice policy to not do VBACs, look for a Facebook group for your area and try to ask around. Other moms will be your best resource for a good doctor in your area that specializes in vba2c.

You will just have to do research into doctors that are comfortable with VBAC. My midwife is known in the area for being super supportive of VBAC births & is comfortable even after someone has had 2 C sections. It’s not impossible but you definitely want to ask around for recommendations ASAP

Im going a for a vbac after 2 csections. My last 1 was 2 and half years ago and was also elective due to complications with my first baby. My last doctor wouldn't even consider a vbac after my first, but this one I have now is confident I'm fine since the 1st wasn't an issue with me but the baby.
