Mirena and Stopping Breastfeeding

I got a Mirena IUD implanted over a year ago, just after my post partum recovery. My baby is almost 1year and 6 months old now, and I'm considering stopping breastfeeding.

My main reason for stopping is that my baby is hurting so bad me with his teeth these last few weeks. Sometimes it hurts so bad I have to take him off my breast.

I have read some articles online about how breastfeeding affects the hormonal production and stopping it increases the risk of pregnancy.

I have been thinking if Mirena + breastfeeding is my birth control combo, and if I have a higher risk of getting pregnant again if when I stop breastfeding.
