daddy issues ??

my mom said that the reason i like older guys (3-5 years older) is because i have daddy issues in the past about my dad being in and out of my life and i didn’t have that “man” figure in my life growing up. can anyone speak on this ?

3 to 5 years isnt much... my husband 3 years older then me, and its deff not because i have daddy issues. I just find i matured faster then guys my age did. I feel if you had daddy issues it would be 10 year gap or older.

My mom used to say stuff similar to that. My husband is 31, I'm 23. My dad has been in and out of my life and in and out of jail. I think he's about to be going back to prison soon because he won't keep up with probation. 🙄 I don't really talk to him anymore. He just doesn't care and we barely know each other, so I feel like why bother when all he does is ask for things and use me. (For money, a place to stay, etc) my husband doesn't like my dad at all just because of the way he treats me. I haven't seen him in months. I'm always afraid he's going to come by my apartment when my husbands not home. I've had to call the police on him before..... ANYWAY.. I definitely don't want my husband to be anything like my dad, although my husband has been a great father to our children. A way better dad than either of us had. I'm not sure if age has anything to do with any part of it though. I'm just attracted to older men. I thought he was younger and decided to talk to him at work. After talking for a bit he asked how old I was and I asked how old he was. He thought I was older as well. I remember when I told my mom he was 26 (I was 18) she said "you just keep going older and older" with men I was dating. Lol. Well I married him though and my mom adores him now. I think she likes him now more than her own son. Lol.

I’m 41 and am just now realizing that I have daddy issues. He’s 46 and reminds me of my dad. That was the initial draw to him. And he knew it. It was a kick to the gut when he found out. He felt familiar, like home and safe. No I don’t want to have sex with my dad. I look way younger than him. I still get carded. I look in my early 20s. My dad passed in 1983. I had a father figure until I was 16. And let’s just say nothing good happened after that. Men take longer to mature. Some never do. The having to wear socks during sex and or hating feet I think is part of a trait of the daddy issues too. But I didn’t date older men, I always dated younger because I looked so young. Older men are less drama. More set in their ways and stubborn especially the older they get. Don’t let her bother you.
