Appointment for IUD on the 6th?

Question

I've never had a pap but I've been sexually active for about a year. 
I went to my family doctor and I have an appointment to get an IUD put in, probably copper, because I have bad experience with hormones on birth control and they make me super mood swingy, she advised against the shot which is pretty much the same as the hormonal iud (progesterone only) so thats out of the question I think, plus I don't want my periods to disappear.  
But I think I might have endo, I get superrrr crazy bloated, have honestly what resembles ibs symptoms and I find sex painful and get super sharp cramps in my uterus area on my period and get sooo tired before my period and like a week after but I'm honestly always tired and have random period like cramps occasionally. I get nauseous and have cramps around ovulation as well. Having sex often gives me bad cramps just like a period. 
Idk... hormones make me crazy lmao but I'm so miserable on my periods off hormonal birth control but when im on it i get paranoid that im pregnant bc my periods get so light and theres like no cramping and theyre shorter lmaooo
My periods have been altered by being on birth control for so long and my period has gotten MUCH lighter and less crampy but I've only had one period since being off horomonal birth control so that might not last forever. 
Opinions on what to do?

If you have endo, painful periods or heavy periods stay away from the copper iud. It makes periods heavier and longer. My periods re 7 days long and very heavy didnt think the copper iud would make it worse but it turned into 10 plus days. 
I would recommend a hormonal iud. The hormones stay in your uterus so you have less side effects than all other hormonal birth control because those circulate your blood stream. 
Levonogestrel is the progesterone hormone used in all hormonal iuds just different doses. The shot has a different type of progesterone. Ive done the shot i gained 60 pounds in 6 months its the highest dose of hormones delivered the fastest route that our body absorbs compared to the iud that even the highest dose with mirena the one i have gives off less hormones daily than a pill does. 
Birth control is a testing game. Try one til you find what works for you. I got Mirena because its the only birth control fda approved to treat heavy periods. My periods are so heavy i bleed thru an ultra tampon in 3 hours flat like ita soaked no white for 7 days straight sometimes 8. The insertion took 5 mins felt crampy but that stopped after she took out all the tools. I had bad cramps for about a month. The forst period was 10 days long and my normal heavy. My periods stopped after month 4. We dont use condoms or pull out and i havent gotten pregnant. I check my strings monthly. I get a bad cramp once a month. Its worth it to me because nothing else helps with my periods. I cant use estrogen so no combo pills, patches or rings for me. Mini pills didnt help my heavy periods, i gained 60 pounds on depo shot. I was nervous about gaining weight on the implant. So i went with mirena. Iuds also dont interact with other meds. Ive taken antibiotics and st johns wort and havent gotten pregnant. I love it! No pills, no pharmacy.

I probably have endo (actual diagnosis means invasive surgery and my doctor didn’t want to put me through that) I got the Mirena IUD and I’ve had it for 3 months and it’s been wonderful!!!! No cramping, very light periods, etc. A lot of birth control didn’t work for me but this one is all progesterone and no estrogen and it’s been great. It def hurts to get in but otherwise has been really helpful!!
